They should have started the training in 2020. It was obvious it was going to come to this.
Thing I knew they were already training at least on simulators. I don't think any of them are going to have any trouble with the real thing let's get them fuel let's get them launch sites and into the air. Where they can teach the Orcs what real air superiority is about
If we learnt anything from WW2, regardless of Ukraine not being part of NATO, we should be in there at least imposing no fly zones. If the USA weren;t so weak at the end of WW2 Stalin would have been next and we could have not had the cold war, Vietnam, North Korea, Iraq, and no problems with China, no-one should be having anything manufactured there which is another joke and cheap crap will have to be paid for in blood one day, and surely there are some retired F16 pilots out there that could be defending Ukraine now, there were plenty of russian pilots in Vietnam and Korea.
Ukrainian military pilots don't speak English well. Learning language takes a lot of time. I could say it takes even more than new type plane pilot retraining process. It takes sense to retrain Ukrainian civil pilots who speak English well.

Yes there is money ..but not as much as people think…alot is old tank and planes equal to the amount given…most have sat on air bases .and storage for 15 years….its no good them gathering dust …so make use of them….
The Ukraine-Russia war is not an unprovoked war.
It is US (the world No.1 war mongering nation & No.1 regional conflicts instigator) leading NATO, the Western military alliances, through continuous expansion of boundaries (disregarding Russia's many protests) up to the borders of Russia; and with the setting up of many US/NATO military bases in many European countries with bombers, ballistic missiles, even nukes pointing towards Russia.
These NATO intimidating actions surely threatened Russia national security that instigated & provoked Russia to take such military operation.
It is a fact that this is a Nato proxy war with Russia – With NATO pouring hundreds billions USD & thousands and thousands military hardwares, various warfare training, military intelligences, communications and directives to Ukraine.
Yes, the Ukrainian are brave but their President is so foolish & has become a barking dog for US led NATO. Ukraine is just a NATO pawn to fight Russia.

This is proceeding at a pace resembling the US military response to the hijacked planes on September 11th. Are the pilots perhaps being trained to take off very slowly then eventually fly out over the sea where there are no enemy planes for them to engage with?

One major problem most dont speak english or have the english proficiency in military english Jargon . Out of the qualified pilots only a handful is ready to train the other english speakers need a course in aviation english and terminology , the rest has to learn english from scratch .
The people they are training are already piolet's I am sure for the most part so it's more of a communication issue more than a training issue….
