Companies love to brag about how much they made yearly, but can't give employees enough to live on. It's disgraceful. All these CEOs and company presidents want to be millionaires. That wasn't good enough-now they want to be billionaires. How much is enough money? She didn't press her on her salary. It makes me angry. The greed in American is mind blowing. Give up some of your salary girl.

Why blame her for negotiating a great deal for herself!

Do you scream and holler because pro athletes make million $ contracts for themselves, but get free sneakers while the commoner's pay $100-$200 per pair for each kid, but can barely put food on the table??

You represented employees should be screaming at your Union leadership for negotiating crappy deals!! I've been there and every three years the Union Reps would come out and act real tough getting the rank and file all worked up and in the end fold like a cheap suit when it came down to ratification time. Same old BS every time. The company would offer us a bonus to settle the contract 2-3 months early at the standard COLA, the union reps would slam the company and tell us to hold out blah, blah, blah blowing the BS up our butts. The company would then retract the bonus, we would lose the 2-3 months of the early increase in pay and whatever else we would lose because the union would NEVER want to go on strike no matter the cost…always claiming, "well that is what the national package was too.".

Car companies sent jobs to Mexico to save 2/3 of the price to manufacture a vehicle, but then brought the car back and sold it for the same price as if it was still being made here, in the USA.

    Ditto for every other company/industry.

    Never gets old!!

P.S. What are these reporters making that are stirring up the masses??!! $250K+??

What she forgot to say is that they are forced to go electric and their dealership network doesn't want to go electric.

She basically said, “Go fuck yourselves,” to the workers in so many words. Watching late stage capitalism in real time.

She said that her salary is based off of company performance. You mean the sales that you make because the workers are churning out cars?

I hope they keep striking, the tragedy is what it has to come too vs companies running a way that benefits all, but its pretty apparent she's another disconnected CEO. She straight up in devalued all of the workers she said at the best in the business and let them know her 30mill dollar salary is more important than theirs. But let's be very real and where all the corporate CEO types who bounce from one business to the next is actual value to the company; Now let's say she quit or was fire tomorrow, GM is built in a way that it could function for quite a while without her or any CEO and not even really missing a beat. Now if they loose their line level employees, as they are experiencing right now, what happens? Who really more important to the company? I'm not saying you go without a CEO you need the leader, but they can't survive without the workers. And Yes CEO's shoulder the weight of the entire company and have high stress jobs and should be compensated fairly for that, but if you're the leader of a company pocketing 30 million a year ( U.S. presidents Salary $475k) and you can't even give a straight answer to why your percent increase shouldn't match the employees, when that percent increase in actual dollars is going significantly based your bloated base salary, you are in the wrong job. All I saw in this interview was a shameful display of greed.

She is talking out of her but. She wants everything and will give the people that actually do the work very little.

Lets look at how jobs are being phased out and the industry is moving out of Michigan to build these EVs!
The reason that a strike is required to begin with is because of Democrat policies! Record inflation from Joe's attack on oil, the Democrats climate push for EVs are pushing out jobs especially out of Michigan, and with the push for electric vehicles these companies are losing their asses on vehicles the public don't want!

She is such a LIAR!! How can she sit there and justify her salary. It's the UAW workers labor that produced the cars that she's getting paid $30 million dollars per year for. What a whore!

This absolutely filthy rich tool has the audacity to suggest that workers striking for what they deserve is delaying electric vehicles, insinuating they're attributing to delaying climate action is disgustingly insulting and ludicrous! And to keep bringing up healthcare which should be a right, not something corps can hold over worker's heads to quite literally force underpaid labor… so appalling and shows how out of touch the executive sector is. Her exorbitant salary is based on company performance, aka profits for shareholders gained by keeping costs aka wages and benefits as low as possible. It is impossible to be that rich and turn that much profit without some form of exploitation, both here and across the world. Stand with all unions! Their fight raises standards and advances labor rights for everyone!

Her performance is shit if that is the metric for her pay… and why workers are going on strike. Why is SHE the ONLY one rewarded for performance? Is she the one manning the lines? Is she the one building cars? No. Most of what she does is delegate. Stay strong UAW, you are supported!!! Up the workers!! Up the Union!! Down with scabs and bosses!!!

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is something that too few folks are speaking intelligently about. Now i’m very happy I stumbled across this during my search for something relating to this.
