There is a lot of ignorance on display by the comments here about what happened in Haiti. This snippet did not at all cover the massive scale of sexual abuse/exploitation that occurred. It misleadingly focuses on a story that sounds like two consensual adults and your standard paternity fight.
It’s been well documented by multiple sources including the UN (which is why the UN admits they are victims)itself that many if not the majority of these children are the product of rape or illegal coercion by UN forces of sex for food rations to starving women or girls as they did also in many peacekeeping missions in countries in Africa and Middle East and Asia . The UN and it’s so called peacekeeping forces is woefully corrupt and has a long history of human right abuses especially of a sexual nature to women/girls in the countries they are meant to protect. The UN and the member countries have chosen to turn their eyes and ears away instead of proactively giving true justice to the victims .This snippet is one of the major reasons Haitians despise the mention of a returning UN military force. Haitians know the double devastation the UN deployment gave-cholera and UN babies.
Both the soldiers and the organization they worked under should be held responsible in the cases of rape/illegal coercion as reports surfaced almost immediately upon stationing of troops of abuse and UN did nothing to stop it. UN peacekeepers also already had a history of these abuses in other countries so they should have had a preventive strategy . For those in consensual relationships free from coercion, it should be handled like any civil matter with facilitation of the UN for the child to gain his/her parenting rights.
Now meanwhile Mr. Liar and Chief Joe Biden jad the nerve to go in front of the United Nations and requestion and international force to invade Haiti for a gang problem they helped create. I guess they want to finish raping the rest of the population of women AND boys.

Should the US government then not do the same, and take responsibility for all the children made by US fathers in other countries? And the same applies, of course, for the members of any other nation inside any other nation. But the question is, if employers are to be made responsible (like the US military or the UN bodies), or if not the actual fathers should be made responsible. I would go for the last. But I think, legal procedures must be made much easier, and for such cases, legal fees must be kept very low so the mothers can afford to go the legal route.
