We have the same thing in the US. It's called the GOP. Both ISIS and the GOP are the ultra-conservative extremists in our respective societies.

    – Both groups are religious fanatics. Demand blind allegiance to the Quran/Bible, which identical archaic beliefs and commandments.
    – Distrust schools and universities that harbor dangerous, radical ideas such as women rights. Reject science and progress. They want to keep things the same.
    – They believe that men must be strong while women should stay at home and take care of the kids. Women are too emotional to make decisions.
    – Ultra-patriotic with a lot of flag waving.
    – Tribalistic. They form groups, resorting to violence to achieve dominance in order to impose their way of life on everyone else in society. Notice how both groups love guns.
    – They love to follow a single leader and place their entire trust in that person.

ISIS, the Taliban, and the GOP are all exactly the same thing. They are the people in our society who fall prey to our most primal instincts. The desire to be manly, to dominate, and to impose one's archaic beliefs on everyone else in society.
