When I went to school if you didn’t learn what you were supposed to they let you try again the next year why is this not an option today
Learning tests asking questions never taught students. Of course they fail.

In Elementary school just work on reading and simple math. Make it fun. They should be reading. Alot of Shools, were passing these kids on, and they Graduated, and could not read, that is insane.
But were wortied about a war with China
It's the "Credit Card Culture". Just like the national debt, the baby boomers are blind and ignorant to what they are doing. Did society ever figure out the good and bad ramifications of just the invention of the CREDIT CARD. I remember a old video about that I saw in an odd place…. I say odd cause the other guy was soooo broke like me that he was using pages of the phone book to wipe himself in the bathroom. I had not fallen that far yet…. but close.

It’s pretty easy to improve from 0% reading proficiency. If you’ve ever been to Mississippi you know that nobody can read.
As someone who moved to Madison, Mississippi 2 years ago from Miami I can tell yall Mississippi gets a bad rep. Madison county is ranked # 1 in the state and # 57 in the nation out of 10,571. Also my wife is an educator but we opted for homeschooling up until this year do to the economy my wife had no choice to go back into the field and our boys are in school. As home schooled kids they are way ahead of the other kids to the point that my 9 year old is in fifth grade instead of 4 and my 7 year old is in 3rd. Both moved up a year. Homeschooling is by far the better choice and I highly recommend everyone do it if they have the funds.
Get rid of school sports and get uniforms. The best way to turn reading scores around is to read books. Lots of books.
